In addition to this “Yuga Nayak Vivekananda”, “Sri Ma Sarada Devi”, “Sri Ramakrishna Bhakta Malika” and other such books has contributed immensely to the world of Bengali literature. “Sri Ramakrishna Leela Prasanga” – the authoritative biography of Sri Ramakrishna in Bengali by Swami Saradananda, brought out by Udbodhan is a unique contribution to the world of literature. The works of Swamiji that is available in Bengali is the result of Swami Shuddhananda’s untiring labour and brilliance. Although the translations were quite literal, his own language was sweet yet powerful. He translated nearly the entire Complete Works of Swamiji single-handed. From the outset he had started translating the works of Swamiji in addition to helping in publishing the Udbodhan magazine. Swami Shuddhananda’s contribution in publishing these books is unforgettable. The first volume of “Kathamrita” (Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna in original Bengali) was first published in 1902.

Udbodhan, the premier publishing house for the spread of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature, initially brought out the life and works of Swami Vivekananda and others in article form in the magazine and later on published them as books.
